Apple Co-Founder Back for Third Annual Valley Tech Event

What: DesTechAZ, the third-annual event is an opportunity to showcase, celebrate and elevate Arizona as a technology hub. The event is billed as Arizona’s signature tech event and is built around innovation, collaboration and education.

When: Oct. 16-17, Scottsdale Fairmont Princess, 7575 E. Princess Dr.

New this year: The Arizona Commerce Authority’s Arizona Innovation Challenge portfolio companies will participate in the Venture Ready graduation and pitch showcase. One company selected by judges will receive the Arizona Commerce Authority and DesTechAZ Entrepreneurial Excellence Award, to be announced at the dinner program.

Who’s coming: Apple co-founder Steve Wozniak will join Arizona Gov. Doug Ducey, NASA Chief Scientist James Green, Hanson Robotics founder David Hanson, Meow Wolf founder Vince Kadlubek and Orange County Choppers founder Paul Teutul Sr. for discussions on technology and education.

What they said: “It’s exciting to see the many great tech ideas being developed in the state of Arizona and experience that excitement at DesTechAZ as they celebrate those initiatives and the companies supporting them,” Wozniak said in a statement.

What else to expect: A full day of interactive sessions on diverse topics such as blockchain and cryptocurrency, autonomous vehicles, robotics, cybersecurity, 5G mobile tech and drones. The sessions are held in a roundtable format that allows attendees to have productive conversations and make connections with top leaders in tech.
